Join LabSpace Robotics for a three-day, hands-on STEM "marathon" designed to take the mystery out of robotics and engineering. We use a "maker-first" approach where girls learn by doing-building real prototypes and using *LEGO Spike* sets with intuitive, icon-based coding.
Â
Mechanical Engineering: Makers will explore forces and energy by building a jumping "leap-bot," engineering a functional "extendo-hand" tool from cardboard, and designing their own custom board game from scratch.
Â
Robotics & Coding: Using LEGO Spike, girls will build their own robotic creations and learn to "speak" to them using code to complete various tasks and creative challenges.
Â
Badges Earned: This workshop is specifically designed to fulfill the requirements for FOUR (4) official Girl Scout badges. LabSpace will provide the physical badges to the girls at the conclusion of the camp:
1. Mechanical Engineering 1 - Board Game Design Challenge for
Daisies /Leap Bot Design Challenge for Brownies
2. Robotics 1 -
What Robots Do for Daisies/ Programming Robots for Brownies
3.
Robotics 2 - How Robots Move for Daisies / Designing Robots for
Brownies
4. Coding for Good 1 - Coding Basics
Â
Registration Information: Space is limited to 16 participants to ensure every girl has her own LEGO kit and personalized instruction from our lead teachers. Daily sessions will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.Â
